A little bit more about us…
After much thought and fervent prayer CrossFire LTI (a non-profit organisation) was birthed at the beginning of 2013. Right from the start, Manie’s vision was to impact the lives of people of all ages with the aim of spiritual transformation so that they in turn would enrich the lives of others again (2 Tim. 2:2). Only in September 2017 this dream became a bigger reality after about 15 years in fulltime ministry within the Dutch Reformed Church in South Africa.
After much thought and fervent prayer CrossFire LT (a non-profit organization) was birthed at the beginning of 2013. Right from the start, the vision was to impact the lives of people of all ages with the aim of spiritual transformation so that they in turn would enrich the lives of others again (2 Tim. 2:2). Manie, the visionary and ministry leader of CLT, also serves within the Dutch Reformed Church in South Africa for the past 18 years and is currently leading the congregation of Lyttelton-East in Centurion, Pretoria.
He is married to Angelique and they have three children, aged 8, 9 and 11 years.
Our name, CrossFire LT, holds two very important truth aspects of the Kingdom of God, as is evident in the Word of the Lord:
Firstly, the “CROSS” refers to the cross of Jesus Christ on which He died for the sin of all human beings and in doing so brought reconciliation between God and man. What is very important, is that He did not only die, but was also resurrected and therefore triumphed over death, hell and all evil powers. Through the reconciliation that Jesus established on the cross, we are able to stand in a personal relationship with Him, his Father and the Holy Spirit. Through this Jesus ensured for us the gift of an eternal life in heaven with Him.
Secondly, the “FIRE” refers to the “flame” which the Holy Spirit “ignites” in one’s spirit. This is only possible after a true encounter at the cross of Christ where repentance takes place and one is born again. The Holy Spirit is received as gift from the Father and the Son when one accepts Christ as Lord and Saviour (John 7:37-39). He comforts and encourages us, equips us with gifts, give us power in weakness and lead us in the truth of the Word. Unfortunately this is not always evident in people’s lives: they often sit the church pews warm for years without living wholly for Jesus Christ. This “Fire” therefore refers to the dynamic and powerful filling (dunamis) of the Holy Spirit of God in a person’s life. This is what makes the huge difference in the establishment of His kingdom here on earth.
When a true “Cross experience” and the “Fire of the Spirit” becomes a reality in a person’s life, it brings forth new life according to God’s promises in His Word (2 Cor. 5:17). It also brings transformation (metanoia – change in one’s way of life resulting from penitence or spiritual conversion), which means that such a person begins to think, speak and act differently as before (Rom. 12:2) so that God is glorified from day to day.
With great expectation we dream that God will use this ministry to impact the lives of people to the ends of the earth, just as the Great Commandment is stated in Acts 1:8 by Jesus Himself:
“But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power, and you will be witnesses for me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
“Offer yourselves to God…let God transform you…” (Rom. 12:1-2)
“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life – and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix (Focus) your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”

The Action team consists of people who, first of all, love Christ with all their heart; secondly, they all voluntarily give of their spare time in order to serve the Kingdom of Christ here on earth; lastly, they all share their respective God given talents and spiritual gifts, and bring their wealth of life experiences in order to help this ministry expand, so that more people can be impacted through CrossFire LT. They are all precious members of the team and are valued more than words can ever say…
Every ministry needs a Prayer team. These men and women are the “backbone” of CrossFire LTI, always ready to spend some focused time to call upon the Name of the Lord…fervently praying for everything that needs to happen and for God to open and close the correct “doors” with regards to this ministry.
